Myles Davis

Myles Davis is a master’s student at the University of Kansas, pursuing a degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. An enrolled member of the Muscogee Creek Nation from Broken Arrow, OK, his research focuses on soil ecosystems, particularly the role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in influencing soil structure and function in prairie restoration and agricultural systems.

Myles graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University with a B.S. in Environmental Science. He began this line of research during BioGEM, a University of Kansas postbaccalaureate program funded by the National Science Foundation, and has continued developing the project through his master’s work. His research investigates how varying densities of native AMF affect soil aggregation, nutrient cycling, and erosion dynamics.

His work aims to improve understanding of plant–soil interactions and contribute to advancing ecological theory and restoration science.
