Biography

Hè, ntëluwènsi Vic Secondine. Ni ta Lënape. Hi, my name is Vic Secondine (they/them). I am a citizen of the Delaware Tribe of Indians (Bartlesville, OK) and a Ph.D. student in the Environmental and Water Resources Science program under Dr. Amy Hansen's mentorship. Along with the Alfred P. Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership, I am a fellow in the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program and the NSF Emerge Program. I earned my B.S. in Environmental Science at Haskell Indian Nations University, where I fell in love with wetlands. My graduate research is on wetland restoration/stewardship effects on greenhouse gas fluxes and soil carbon. I am especially interested in fire as a restorative tool in wetlands, uplifting Indigenous ecological knowledge in my research.
